Football. Obviously.

(the one where you have to use your feet).

I think American Football, is the bestest and greatest team sport.

But 'Foot'ball is much more popular, to watch and easier to play. Shoulderpads and helmets are hard to buy here.

These are the two points I was thinking that make this an unfair comparison.

There's no doubt the WC is watched by more people but I think the overall disparity is a little closer than just posting XX billion to XX million.

The World Cup, easily.

I think it's already been pretty much agreed - but I'll add that being from Canada, I don't know a single person back home that gives a rat's *** about the NFL or the Super Bowl. Hell, I couldn't even name more than 2-3 teams until I moved to the US.

It's a huge US event, and there are large groups that watch it around the world, but nothing even close to what soccer gets.

Just so you know there's only one Rough Riders now

Oh and the Grey Cup precedes the SB by 53 years. So I would appreciate it if you lay off the sarcasm.

Rutgers football predates Miami football by 60 years.

Yes, it does. But that's not the topic at hand.

The point i'm making is that it's not just a rinky dink game that's "adorable" the way that poster makes it seem. The Grey Cup has for decades been more then a game and has taken on a cultural bent. The game often outdraws the Stanley Cup Finals in this country so there's a resonance to it.

It's just a pet peeve of mine when I see people just blatantly disregard and disrespect the CFL/Grey Cup like that. You don't have to like it or even respect it but don't mock it.

Anyways that's my last post on this.
