Re: NFL considering changing OT rules

Use the NBA model for OT Add one period at 7 mins 2 timeouts, and repeat if still tied after the first OT period

I agree with that but Revis made this big deal about how "BY RULE, the opposing team gets to start the 2nd half with the ball...it's guaranteed that each team will touch the ball on offense. " which was not an accurate statement. I merely wanted to point out the actual rule. It's surprising how many knowledgeable football fans don't actually know this rule either.

Re: NFL considering changing OT rules

The way it is now isnt bad, but it doesn't give both teams an eqaul shot. The team that wins the coin toss will have the advantage. It might not seem like it, but at the end of the game, both teams are spent. The offense will always have the advantge if they play smart and rely on short passes and runs. Techincally, all they have to do is march 30 yards or so and take a field goal.

I just think both teams deserve to get the ball, or the game should end with a tie. However there has to be a decisive winner for a play-off and super bowl game, so in that context, i would vote for the way college football does it or for both teams to play half a qaurter until it completely ended. And the team who came up on top would win
