Favre to retire... again.
Per ESPN's SportsCenter, which is airing right now, and ProFootballTalk, Jets QB Brett Favre has informed the team of his intentions to retire.

Can't say I'm too terribly surprised, given Favre's fading play down the stretch. He's still a Top 10 quarterback to ever play and a first-ballot HoF'er, in my eyes.

I think he's truly done. No way he wants to come back, go through an off-season program, and learn a new offense for the second year in a row.

He should have retired the first time. This second "retirement" kind of tarnishes his legacy in a sense. Let's hope he really does retire.

In a way, this might actually help Ryan. Expectations ought to be a little lower since the Jets likely now will have a rookie passer under center next fall.
