Re: Where is Fred Taylor running to?

INDIANAPOLIS - The Patriots have expressed interest in former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor, and according to league sources, Taylor could meet with them early this week.

Taylor, 33, was released by the Jaguars after spending the first 11 seasons of his career with them. He is the franchise's leading rusher and ranks 16th in NFL history with 11,271 yards.

But last season Taylor rushed for just 556 yards in 13 games and had a career-low 3.9 yards per carry. He was scheduled to make $6 million next season.

Taylor would be good insurance for the Patriots. Laurence Maroney, who played just three games last season, is coming off shoulder surgery, and Sammy Morris, who led the Patriots last season with 727 yards, has missed time with injuries the last two seasons.

New England would have competition for Taylor. The Bills are in the market for a back after Marshawn Lynch was charged last Thursday with three gun-related misdemeanors stemming from an incident in California.

Is it ever a surprise when NE is one of the first teams mentioned when it comes to a vet with a little tread left on the tires?

I'll bet they are also waiting to see how the whole LT situation shakes out this week.

Id take him to replace lendale here in tn, even if he does only get 3.9 a carry thats an improvement over lendale, and I think he could do just as well at the goal line.

To the first part: No, its not a surprise.

To the second part: Ya, your probably right.

Unlike the San Diego organization, we know how to win AND hold onto our franchise players.

Fred hasn't been a goal line back in a long time. He tends to get stuffed and fumble a lot.
