Who didn't think that the skins were going to get him? It is what Snyder does. He is trying to win a championship. The same thing that the Yankees do. You can hate that he is always spending on FA but there is a reason. It's not like he isn't spending money because he is greedy owner who is only concerned with the bottom line. Yes that is a crazy ammount of money, yes he over paid for DeAngelo Hall, yes the skins are the defending champions of the off-season 3 years running and yes at least one of these moves will backfire. So it is, so it shall be. Skins fans are use to this. Oh and yes they will make one more move in FA before the draft.

The fact of the matter is, they know how to work the cap. Unfortunately, they have no clue how to evaluate talent.
The bold is the only thing in question. I'm surprised at most of the responses here. Bottom line is they have found ways to throw this crazy money around with little consequence so the amounts mean next to nothing... it's about the players. Who thought Lloyd, ARE, or Archuletta would do anything? Who thought Bruce Smith and Deion were good signings? They've made some bonehead moves but Haynesworth is the best player in the NFL at the position they need the most. Doing whatever they can to get him was a damn good move imo. I think they overpaid for Hall but Springs would've asked for that contract and considering his age and injury history, good move to sign Hall and let Springs walk.

People laughed at Carter the same year as Archuletta but last year he got comfortable and made some noise. Now the joke is Taylor but if he's healthy... and on the same line as Haynesworth and with Carter on the other side, the Skins line is dangerous.

Exactly. The numbers that matter are the $41mil and $24mil... the signing bonuses. Which are still pretty hefty but necessary for Haynesworth and too much for Hall (imo).

They have already canceled their meeting with Canty (can't pull the link up now because PFT is down) so that doesn't seem to likely. Also Cerrato was on ESPN saying that they don't have much room left, so its doubtful that they sign anyone else that is big.

Like I said earlier, as long as they're content with being a .500 team and nothing more and a possible first round exit, then Skins Fans here in this area will consider it success.

Just doesn't make sense to guarantee $60 something mil to one side of the ball that wasn't the issue last year.

$100 Mil for a DT? No way in hell you can justify that move for that PRICE.

The DL and pre-DH corners weren't issues last year?

Oh wait, they were.
