I think they have saltwater alligators in Australia.

As for this story... sad stuff. It's like we get one of these freak accidents once a year with the NFL. Last year it was that Patriots player from Louisiana (I believe) who got lost or killed on one of the Great Lakes or something.

Those are crocidiles...

Man...Its sad to see that perhaps COREY Smith is gone. I was using the Lions in Madden, and absolutely beasting w/ Smith as my starting LE.

Feel sorry for the family. They were so confident that they would survive but they had to know that once they weren't found with the boat that would be it.

This is really sad. Nobody has said how the other 3 men got seperated correct?

Re: Coast Guard searching for missing boat with NFL players

this makes no sense...there is NO way the other 3 guys felt they could swim nearly 50 miles back to shore. my opinion is that they "got seperated" because they were probably near death and couldn't hang on any longer.

no one is going to say this, but the coast guard wasn't looking for them alive...there's no way they could survive this - it was too cold and they probably lost their bearings. very, very sad...
