Browns release Joe Jurevicius

Quote:
The Browns announced on Wednesday evening that the club has released wide receiver Joe Jurevicius.

"These types of decisions are always difficult ones, especially with someone like Joe, who has meant a great deal to the Cleveland Browns organization and to the fans of Cleveland," said Browns General Manager George Kokinis. "Eric (Mangini) and I have had extensive conversations with Joe and his representatives. In the end we were unable to reach an agreement that was in the best interests of both parties. We want to thank Joe for his contributions to the Browns and wish him the best of luck in the future."

Jurevicius joined the Browns as an unrestricted free agent from Seattle in 2006. In his three years with Cleveland he caught 90 passes for 1,109 yards and six touchdowns. Overall in his 11 NFL campaigns, he has caught 323 passes for 4,119 yards and 29 touchdowns.

100 bucks says the Bears pick him up. He'll be our "prize" free agent.

Looks like Edwards is staying put with this move...

Maybe the Browns will look to take Brian Robiskie in the 2nd Rd?

I hope not.

I want a good WR.

Sadly, I do not think he can play any longer. The staph infection that he developed has pretty much put an end to his career.

LOL. Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears pick him up.

I was going to say this too. The guy was a darn good 3rd/slot receiver back in the day and could be counted to make some clutch catches. It's sad how his time in Cleveland was pretty much wasted due to injury and such.
