Dave's one-round mock

I used ESPN's draft machine to do this: http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/features/draftmachine/
Feel free to laugh at my picks.
Replace Philly with Buffalo at 28, obviously.
ESPN hasn't updated it yet.

Re: Dave's one-round mock

Overall I think you did a good job. But I am suprised by people putting Wells in the top 10. No way that happens. Also, the Vikings won't take a TE in the first round. Visanthe Shiancoe played great down the stretch last year and had some big catches. I think they will fill a need.

Ravens picking up Percy would be quite interesting also seems somewhat possible. Kenny Britt wouldn't be such a bad pick for the Colts. i would be suprised if he does happen to get drafted by the Colts since Indy hasn't had a big time receiver with alot of height for sometime (Britt 6"4).

I dont' think it's that bad..any mock that dont' have the Redskins taking Sanchez is pretty good to me. Even though Mel is the only person that think the Skins are going to take him at 13, which we really don't need.

I've seen mocks where he's picked late in the 2nd round.

Lightbulb Re: Dave's one-round mock

I know this may be surprising to many people outside of Michigan looking at a bunch of mock drafts or watching pundits from various NFL Draft shows on ESPN and NFL Network having the Lions draft Matthew Stafford with the #1 pick, but I would be shocked if the Lions get him. I really believe all the talk of the Lions drafting him is a smokescreen.

As for Peria Jerry, he would be an ideal penetrating 1-gap 3-technique defensive tackle in the Tampa 2 scheme that the Lions ran (horribly) last year. But Jerry would not fit in the schemes that will be ran under Schwartz & Cunningham. I think the Lions will likely be looking for a huge 2-gap run stuffer (Ron Brace? Sammie Lee Hill?) later in the draft and use the #20 pick on either a defensive back or offensive lineman.

Re: Dave's one-round mock

If the Ravens take Harvin with Nicks and Britt on the board I'll be very angry. We need someone to develop on the outside. Harvin is not going to be that guy in the NFL. Slot and backfield gadget player I can see, but not a perimeter player IMO.
