Precisely. It had more to do with the defensive ends not being able to clog up blockers and thus freeing some holes for the linebackers. It's hard to get a pass rush when Jamal is already double-teamed and the defensive ends can only draw one blocker.

That and he simply didn't have that first step like he used to. And he also simply didn't beat many people one on one.
