Yep,those are the two guys who are responsible for the NFL scouts not having a high opinion of system quarterbacks.

I remember when Klingler's Houston team went to face Warren Sapp, Michael Barrow, Jessie Armstead and the "The U", in the orange bowl.

The U took that run and shoot and shoved it back down their throats.

In hindsight, that should have been a warning sign. LOL

On November 17, 1990, Klingler threw 11 touchdown passes against Eastern Washington University at the Astrodome, and on December 2 set the NCAA (division I) record for most yards gained in a single game, 732.
11! passing tds in one game. That is like an NCAA 09 game or something!

He played poorly at the Senior Bowl and did not wow at the combine. He could not make throws. The system tag didn't hurt this guy but his workouts. I hope he makes it because I like the kid. There are good QB's that go undrafted and do well.

I liked Harrell coming out of college. I guess his arm is weaker than I thought but I'd still like to see him get a real shot and was surprised when nobody would even spend a 7th rounder on him. I think he could be good in the CFL. While it does value athletic quarterbacks who can avoid the rush (Harrell could struggle with that), the play style would be similar to what he had in college and Harrell is accurate. Accuracy is valued over arm strength in the CFL. I think Chase Daniel could be a great CFL quarterback too.

I personally thought Harrell and Tuitama could be sleepers in the NFL before the draft. Neither were drafted. Oops!

Re: Graham Harrell: How Surprised Are You He Didn't Get Drafted?

The difference between a 7th round pick and an undrafted free agent is pretty insignificant. I can't believe the amount of people shocked by it. If the guy wasn't even invited to a camp I could understand. But really, what is the big difference?

Kliff Kingsbury, BJ Symons, Sonnie Cumbie & Graham Harrell all put up big numbers, Harrell being the best, anyway they are all system QB's!! I gotta admit I like the Texas Tech offense its fun to watch, btw ima SOONER fan.
