Re: Vince Young "start me or trade me"

Didn't he not to long ago say publicly that he was dedicated to earning his starting position back. No he's flip-flopped on that it seems - like most athletes do. He was probably told to say the dedicated portion by a PR guy, but let his selfish entitlement ways get the best of him.

I don't like VY, but he's got a right to want to play. If his head is on right, he should at least get a fair shot...Any competitor would say that they wanna play ball and not be content with just holding a clip board...

If he had said, "it's all good, i'm happy being a backup" people would've said he's depressed again.
"If they're not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is."

Are you guys just trying to ignore it?

The staff of the Titans have said he's still in the plans, will compete, etc. After what he did last year, he shouldn't be making any demands or implied threats. Why can't he just say "I'm ready to play ball" without the idea that if the Titans don't want to start him "somebody is" ready to? I don't get how guys are trying to spin that. It's pretty clear.

Re: Vince Young "start me or trade me"

I don't see this as Young demanding that he start. I see this as serving notice he's not looking to become a career backup. I thought, after his fiasco last season, he handled things pretty well last year in not upsetting the boat. Now it looks like he's recharged & rededicated.

He seems to know also he burned some bridges & lost the orginazation's trust. "if them guys don't want me to be in there.....if they're not ready for me to play ball..." It could very well be the Titans franchise, players, coaches are wary of him being back @ the helm. & VY senses that. He may see the damage is unrepairable.

If that's the case, he's right. Its time to move forward. He's not placing blame it sounds like. The writing is just on the wall.

If you guys don't understand what he's saying here, then that's on you.

VY is an idiot. They're not ready for him to play ball? He's the one who wasn't ready to play ball last year and his backup took over the job and led them to the best record in the NFL. To be honest, he's lucky that backup (Kerry Collins) is old or else he might have been sent packing.

I'm sure the Titans will give VY a very fair shot at the starting QB position. You think they want to trade away someone they drafted extremely high just a few years ago? You think they want their starting QB to be someone who's turning 37 during the season? No way. He'll get his shot. He has to take advantage of it. It's all on him. He made this mess, now he should try to correct it. Not imply that he should be traded if the Titans don't start him (which would be due to another QB winning the starting QB competition barring any catastrophic happenings).

I have to agree with you. I wish we didnt have to go down this road with this guy. Unfortunately, nothing good is going to come out of this, and this is just the beginning. You think Fisher is like "oh snap, VY put us on notice!" Heck no, fisher is already looking for a way to get this guy out of his life.

send this dude to the bengals so he can be on hard knocks and everyone can see what a ****** he is in HD.

Re: Vince Young "start me or trade me"

Vince Young is the very definition of a loser. Blaming his coaches, players, media, and anything else for all his faults. He has no accuracy, no north to south movement, and he panics when his first read is taken away. Indeed, Young has a hopeless future and will never be the player he was projected to be.

Re: Vince Young "start me or trade me"

VY will get his wish next season. If he's not the starter for the Titans in 2010, they'll have to release him because of the large salary which really starts to kick in next year.

I'm personally done with him. Until he shows me that he can put his team before his own interests, he doesn't deserve a spot on the roster. That stunt he pulled in the first game last season was disgusting. Refusing to go in because some fans booed him and he felt sad??? Sorry man, when you get outplayed by a below average QB (Kerry Collins), don't be surprised when people quit groveling before your greatness.
