Because he was mediocre before he left for the pen, and has missed two full seasons. I don't think people fully realize how hard it will be to step back in to playing in the NFL after 2 seasons off, especially at QB.

that is if and when the NFL reinstates him.

I know he won't be able to step back in and play and he was a decent QB before... but I don't know if it's foolish to give it a shot. You never know how it's going to turn out.

If you feel it's worth the PR nightmare to even give him a shot, not to mention all the distractions with the media circus around an already young club, maybe.

Given the politics of SF and the bay area, there's no chance they sign him, nor would I want to subject my young ball club to the extra stuff. To me it's just not worth what he can add to the club. Not to mention, it's not like the Niners are just one player away from being a legit contender, nor would Vick at his age be their QB of the future.

Vick in SF makes zero sense to me.

And again there's no guarantee he's even going to be reinstated.

Whatever. Vick carried an untalented team to the playoffs. Period.

Was he a great passer? No. Was he a great football player? Absolutely.

He also put butts in seats, which the marginally talented Matt Ryan CANNOT do without winning.

Write it down and remember where you heard it: If the Falcons' running game gets bit by the injury bug, Ryan WILL NOT be able to carry them.
