This really hurt me. I don't what to say..this man i just 6 years older than me and his life is just horrible. Kosar was one of the smart ones and if this could happen to him... I am shock.

That was a good article. Unfortunately, there are a lot of other Bernies with similar stories. Life after the NFL can be a rough road.

What's really scary is that Bernie has some business sense/smarts. Yeah, he got burned, but it's not like he was blindly putting money into ventures.

If a guy who knows business and tries to do a good job has this happen, then imagine all the former NFL players who have horrible managers/friends giving them advice. They don't know any better and listen to the people around them. That money can disappear in a heartbeat.

So true. Wasn't Bernie at one point rumored to have an interest in being part of the Browns purchasing group? Sad how it can all go sour.

It's unfortunate that so many guys share such a common sad thread after their NFL careers are over.

Bernie was part of an ownership group that tried to purchase the new Browns, but lost out to the Lerner/Policy ownership group.

i don't know...in our society today, i'm not so certain. i hope you're right, but people today seem to snap at things that we never heard happen 20-30+ years ago...
