I wouldn't call the Steelers offense very good. Other than a top 10 QB and an above average WR corps, they were mediocre.
In point of fact Tomlin inherited an 8-8 team that had lost several starters from that 2005 team, including both edge rushers. Tomlin's development of Harrison and Woodley is the reason he won us another Superbowl.

If Tomlin coaches for 30 years, he'll own all the records when it's all said and done. Including Shula's.

Best

Vince Lombardi
Bill Walsh
George Halas
Don Shula
Curly Lambeau

Worst

Steve Spurrier
Joe Kuharich
Mike Martz (just one of the dumbest coaches ever)
Marty Morningweg (a close contender for Martz' title)
Rod Marinelli (He went 0-16 and not with an expanision team... could be the worst coach ever)

Ummm...history called. You were unavailable so I took a message. It said "I disagree."

John Elway.

Failed to win the SB 3 times before he won it. Just because someone has come close and not made it does not mean the potential is not there. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way.

in regards to marty

is it his fault the browns fumbled on the 1 yard line and elway went magical on the drive? is it his fault marlon mcree catches an interception in the 4th quarter to seal the game and fumbles to give it back to the pats?

Yes. Yes it is.

No, no it isn't. the '86 game was Elway pulling off a near miracle. You can't fault Marty for that. In fact, IIRC Elway converted 2 4th downs on THE DRIVE.

The '87 game wasn't his fault either as it's not Marty's responsibility to make the block that would've gotten Byner in the End Zone. Webster Slaughter happened to pull a Randy Moss and watched the play instead of doing his assignment.

I can sorta buy your argument that Marty deserves some blame for the Pats game as he coached like a panicked man but those other two games weren't his fault.

It was sarcasm
