It's not his agent, it's his cousin(an "advisor"). According to the 49ers, his agent has made no such threat in negotiations. Crabtree is like every other player that's in a holdout right now, prepared for the long-haul until both sides agree. He's not going to sit out a year...his agent, advisors, cousin, grandma, etc. all know if he does that he's leaving a lot of money on the table he'll never get back. Something will get done probably before the last preseason game. It just illustrates the league needs some sort of cap on rookie salaries. Way too many top picks not in camp right now.

If a Crabtree falls into a holdout, does it even matter to the rest of the NFL?

or

The Niners are suffering from an itchy infestation of Crabtrees.

Re: Crabtree to sit year out?

I hope he hold out, blows out his knee in the Canadian league, and ends up flipping burgers for life.

This "attitude" just doesn't sit well with me. Does he really think the NFL needs him?

Its even sadder that no one in his "circle" is giving him some better advice on how to negotiate and the right things to say, it seems like the entire clan has $$$ in their eyes.

Re: Crabtree to sit year out?

Not really shocking considering he apparently wants/wanted top 3 money despite being drafted 10th

Re: Crabtree to sit year out?

I just want to point out, after not reading the entire thread hopefully this isnt a duplicate post, but the comment was not by Crabtree's agent and was in fact from his so called "adviser" David Wells who is also Crabtree's cousin. His actual agent, Eugene Parker, has never said anything about him sitting out the entire year. This is just the guys idiot relative trying to help him out without knowing that hes doing more harm then good with those comments.

EDIT- Deaduck and Matteh beat me to it apparently.
