Wasn't he having an epically bad season in his only one without Moss?

Culpepper, Cassel, and old Cunningham (obviously not early in his career, but after 1994 or so) had done nothing before and did nothing after Moss entered their lives.

We don't know how this one turns out yet. He has D. Bowe

^He didn't appear that great in the games I saw. I admire his athleticism, but he accelled in the perfect throwing system with Moss and Welker. The only game I saw much of was the Cardinals game, wherein the majority fo his yards came on screens to Faulk, Jordan, Morris, and Moss. Or at least it seemed that way.

Re: The best WR of all-time not named Jerry Rice?

I don't think Rice was the best WR ever. Why do people think he is? His records? Yes they are impressive but he played for quite a while. I give him respect for that but it doesn't mean a guy is the best.

Lets also factor in the two QBs he played with for the majority of his career- Montana and Young, two of the best ever.

I'd say Moss is better than Rice because he simply has better ability. If Moss had played with Montana and Young his entire career he'd have insane stats and multiple rings just like Rice.

I guess the only reason Moss doesn't get more love is because people are biased towards him for his perceived character. I fail to see how that factors into a player's ability. Some can say he takes plays off (or did) but every single WR does that. I know many receivers today get criticized for complaining but Rice did that too. He regularly whined if he wasn't getting the ball more.

Don't get me wrong, I think Rice is one of the best but to me there are better guys playing today. If you put Rice in today's NFL he wouldn't come close to the success he had.

I also think Moss has the ability to raise a QB's play to new levels more than other great WRs may be able to do. Culpepper did poop without Moss. Brady was good before Moss but obviously having Randy there is a huge boost as seen in 07. I swear I saw 6 or 7 TDs to Moss in 07 that he threw deep into double coverage and he was able to catch it...that is not a good play by the qb but by the WR.

FWIW I was a huge 49ers fan in the late 80s and 90s and Rice was one of my favourite players, 2nd behind Young. I just think there are guys better than him playing now.

i agree Rice, then Moss, but i am actually gonna say my personal favorite was the other Viking receiver, all he did was catch td passes. Cris Carter is not far behind either of these guys, he may not have had the break away speed or the huge vertical, but his field awareness was astonishing and his hands were like glue.
