Ok but his most recent body of work has showed that he can be a quality QB. Finished the season on a poor note but the last couple games before that he was very good.

It's called Progression. People develop as they mature. Some even develop from being a terrible QB into being a quality QB when they have the right tools.

The irony.

I like T-Jack, anyone who scouted him out of college knew he needed time to develop to become a NFL level QB. Once he develops, I could see him being in the mold of McNabb.

Because in his final game, he reverted back to his true nature. No different from how Todd Collins went on that nice run a few years ago, then reverted back to Todd Collins.

If you're no good, it will come out again. And like others have said, his larger body of work plus his final game dominates his track record. If he can play and be consistent long term, he'll get another shot somewhere, but I'm highly skeptical that he can be.

Players develop and change over time. Brees was no good until he had a few years of experience. If you looked at his "larger body of work" at the beginning of 2004 and gave up on him, you would have lost a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback without even knowing it.

I agree with you. I was at the Vikings/Eagles game last year. Once we lost our run threat due to time constraints, Tavaris looked like a deer in the headlights. He couldn't throw a simple 5 yard pass and looked completely helpless.

I never saw the potential for greatness in him to be honest. He just never seemed to lay it all on the line nor make spectacular plays when a team needs it the most. Not a good leader. I'm personally very excited to see Favre this year.
