They ran the 4-3 a lot in their Super Bowl year in 2001. In any case, with three 1st team All-Pros Seymour can pretty much be penciled in for the Hall of Fame already. He has more 1st team All-Pros than half of the players already in there, and plenty of Super Bowl rings to back it up. Good pick-up for the Raiders.

Re: Seymour traded

It's a good deal, but if I'm a Pats fan, I'm questioning how this deal puts us closer to a SB.

I can't even hate on you for that one. That was funny.

Re: Seymour traded

To be honest, I'm not sure how to take this move. Seymour can be very productive for us, but for how long? I'm guessing Al is banking on bringing in some top notch talent in the uncapped year so that we don't really need that first round pick or because we won't be able to afford it. Either way, it looks like Al is making his move to win now. Like someone said earlier, our defense is looking very nice on paper. Throw in a very productive ground game and a QB that can manage the game and you have what seems to be a formula for success........on paper. We'll see what happens on the field though. I've been down this road before with the Raiders lol. I'll just wait and see what they look like before I start getting my expectations up.

Re: Seymour traded

The Raiders better have a top 10 defense this year. On paper, their defense is very good and now it's even better with the help of Seymour. But who knows, to be quite honest the Raiders have had a pretty talented roster the past few years and have still sucked.

Maybe it doesn't help us this year, but you also have to think for the future. The Pats only had enough money for Wilfork or Seymour not both. I'd rather get a first then to just let him walk once his contract is up.

I'm a lifelong raider fan and I'm not sure I really like this move. I think big Al overpaid....... Again!
