I wouldn't consider though what the NFLshop sells is truly authentic.

Authentic is what they wear on the field, how it's cut.

Yes, this looks good, the numbers and everything else is just printed, not sewed.
But you call it authentic, mine is a authentic too, but then why are the numbers on my jersey not printed?

To the OP. How much did you pay for your jersey. That is the clearest indication of what kind of Jersey it is. If you got a jersey that is "Authentic" but paid anywhere south of $200 it's probably one of those made in Korea/China knock offs.

When I was younger I got caught up in the Authentic Jersey thing and have a pretty discerning eye for them now. I have about 12 Mitchell & Ness Authentics and maybe 20 Current NFL Authentics. They are easy to spot for me now. Some really easy signs, if the stretchy part on the sides itsn't really stretcy it fake. The mesh on the jersey should be small. A lot of the fake authentic have this large mesh that looks really bad. There are a few more, but I would need more time to better compose my thoughts.

My GF bought a Sean Taylor Redskins 75th anniversary jersey for $100 two weeks ago thinking that it was authentic. I looked at it for about 5 seconds before I told her she paid too much, but those jerseys are so prevalent now. No one really wants to pay $200-$350 for a jersey when most people have no idea the difference.

Well, just like i said, i didn't knew the differences between the types of jerseys.
As you can see, its a Saints Jersey and i bought it from a guy in the UK.
He told me, he bought it at the Saints-Chargers Game in London.
Its just, i know, I won't wear the jersey that often, so i didn't want to spend too much money for it.
Basicly, i got it for free, because the seller wrapped it just into a blue plasticbag and the result was, that the jersey and the bag had a cut, which happened somewhere on the way from the UK to Germany at the mail service.
So i told him that, sent him pictures and he gave me back my money.
But now the jersey is unwearable because of that cut, which goes right through the front number.
Sound weird, but i'm happy i got my money back, because i know, i would have never wear the jersey, because its that stiff.
By the way, i paid about 40$
