I wouldn't put Smith in the same category. He's in a tier with Santana / Greg Jennings / Reggie Wayne.
Pot, meet kettle.

Santana Moss is borderline top 10 at best.

EDIT: Just to save another post:

1a) Larry Fitzgerald
1b) Andre Johnson
3) Randy Moss
4) Calvin Johnson
5) Steve Smith
6) Roddy White
7) Reggie Wayne
8) Brandon Marshall
9) Hines Ward
10) Greg Jennings

Then Santana.

I don't even think Steve Smith is top5 anymore.

Andre Johnson would get the nod from me as #1.

1. Andre Johnson
2. Larry Fitzgerald
3. Randy Moss
4. Reggie Wayne
5. Calvin Johnson

I'd take Gregg Jennings over Steve Smith, and even my man DeSean Jackson OVER Smith.
I think I agree with everything here. Fitz gets too much credit for his playoff/SB play. Don't get me wrong, he deserves A TON of credit for it, but bc all eyes were on him he finally got the notice that AJ still hasn't had. How many of you were saying Fitz was the best this time last year? He's been doing damage for years and I don't expect his numbers this year to be any better than in the past. He's a very close #2 for me, and Moss is #3 only bc I expect the age to bring down his numbers slightly. People do seem to forget that when Brady was throwing 50 TDs Moss was catching most of them.

And yes, Wayne most definitely deserves to be in the conversation. The only part of your post I'm not sure about is putting Jackson over Smith right now, but in the same way CJ shouldn't be ranked over the other guys. If we're projecting, yes. If we're going by what they've done so far, I need to see it for longer before I can make that call I think.

I cannot see DeSean Jackson in the top 10, not at all. Is he a playmaker? Yes. Is he a guy I would trust to catch the ball 10 times a game against tough defenses when I need him to? No.

I disagree. IMO he could do that and has done it before. The only thing is, when he does it, he doesn't get as much credit because he's overshadowed by Peyton Manning and everyone wants to talk about him.

And quietly flying under the radar we have Vincent Jackson.

Steve Smith w/Carolina is like Moss w/the Raiders. You can't blame his lack of production on him alone. When Jake is average, Smith is phenomenal. When MisJake appears, Smith disappears.

Right now, I like AJ @ number one. Followed by Moss.

The others depend on your tastes. Fitz is a physical phenomenon w/production to match. But he also has a good QB w/other good targets to take some heat off.

Again, Smith can't be blamed for MisJake's inadequacies & John Fox's refusal to get a credible 2nd option in the passing game.

Calvin Johnson is rising fast. To do what he did last season on a winless team is amazing. But he's still early in his career. You'd want a record of excellence before placing him above the others.

Reggie Wayne looks all-pro this year. He's also playing w/a QB & system that I think every WR in the NFL would want to be involved in.
