Yeah I have that same feeling towards Romo.

elite QB? Give me a break. The guy had to play to win back his job during the Panthers game. He's above average at best. I'd rank him at about 12. That's more than fair.

Re: I have a genuine question about Tony Romo

There are three "elite" quarterbacks.

Brady, Manning, and Brees.

That's it.

No, Romo is not an elite quarterback.

Exactly!!! Elite basically means "The best or most skilled members of a group". IMO, Romo is not the best and may not even crack the top 10 for some people so, he has a lot to prove before he is considered "Elite".

I'm still skeptical on calling Brees an elite QB.

I'm not... If you put him in Brady or Manning's place, the teams wouldn't miss a beat, IMO.

Plus he has to be the most accurate QB in the league. Take a gander at this video (if you've never seen it before). There's some pretty cool stuff here and I don't think Tony Romo could do this (to keep it on topic ).

Re: I have a genuine question about Tony Romo

It took a guy like Peyton Manning 6 seasons and 3 playoff trips before he ever won a playoff game, can we give Romo some slack?

He's not a franchise QB, but he is definitely a QB who has the skill-set to take a team to the Super Bowl and win. What he needs is a proper coaching staff to keep the reigns on him much like Parcells did in the early going. Play to his strengths & don't let him play analytical football because, much like his idol Favre, he is best when making plays without being forced to over-analyze.

Romo is not Troy Aikman, but I think fans quickly forget our QBs since 2000: Randall Cunnigham (coming back from 2nd retirement), Anthony Wright, THE Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoener, Drew Henson, 40+ year old Vinny Testeverde, Quincy Carter, and Drew Bledsoe. Not to mention the Brad Johnson fiasco of last year and now John Kitna is our backup. I would gladly take Romo over any of those guys and more than a large majority of the starter QBs in the league.

Nice vid.

Yeah, I like Drew Brees and I always have. But he hasn't done much outside of the regular season which is why I'm still kind of skeptical. I'm fine with calling him an elite QB, but he's being put up on the same level with MVP's, Super Bowl winners, and Hall of Famers which is why I'm skeptical seeing as how Brees has played in just a mere 3 Playoff games in his entire career, winning 1 of them.
