Yup, he said the Pats needed some luck with Clayton's drop and that the refs made the right calls based off the new rules. Blame the NFL if you want, but the refs made the right calls according to the rules.

Week 1 Wilfork tackles Edwards at his waist, called for going low on him. It's just the new NFL.

Was it the right call though? The rule states:

Quote:
A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him.
The way I interpret the rule Suggs did not "forcibly hit" Brady's knee.

You could also say he was pushed, but really Suggs appeared to have a chance to move so it'd be completely obvious he wasn't hitting at Brady's knee and he didn't do it. Even the "hitting the QB in the face" rule is stupid how they're calling it, but in that case it's hard for players to stop their natural motion. The call on Suggs was a joke, but it's debatable if it's the right call or not... Suggs could've kept it from even being an issue and didn't do it and he needs to do better than that.

The worst part about the play was seeing Brady pointing at Suggs on the ground and begging for the call when the guy just grazed him. C'mon Tom....you're tougher than that.
