I think its fair to say that QB is the Raiders top priority next year. So, the question I ask now is quich prospect do you guys think they could take?

The Raiders O-Line is fairly decent if not in the Top 15 of the best in the league, so protection is not a problem for them.

True, but their hands were tied. Jamarcus was all the hype, and the heavy favorite out of that QB draft class.

Guess they should've taken Trent Edwards? Brady Quinn? Kevin Kolb?

I mean that was just a horrible year for QBs, and everyone knew Oakland needed a QB...BAD.

They'll likely invest in him longterm though, and I doubt that is a good ide.

They should have drafted a player that was a safe bet like the Dolphins did in Jake Long and then taken a QB later in the draft.

And what's the knock on Kevin Kolb? He's looked pretty good so far as McNabb's replacement. I could see him starting somewhere else in a year or 2 or whenever his contract with the Eagles runs out.

But on the topic, the Raiders should absolutely NOT draft a QB in the first round. They have enough money invested in Russell. They need to make the rest of the team better and then get a QB later on that can manage it.

The Raiders need a guy who's been around but isn't too old then draft a QB who can learn under that veteran QB.

It's never going to happen though because well, it's the Raiders.

I hope not. Whoever it was would only get sucked into the black hole

I figured once Kolb can take they reigns they would dumb McNabb and start the new era in Philly. Then McNabb can go to rot in the final resting place of many NFL careers... Oakland

Re: Should the Raiders Draft A QB in the 1st RD of the 2010 NFL Draft?

The Raiders have a real dilemma. They're honestly a decent enough to compete for the playoffs if they had a decent QB, but aren't good enough to hide an average rookie QB, IMO. Their rookie QB would have to play like rookie Dan Marino and not just be relied on not to lose games. On the other hand, they aren't a game managing QB away from a championship, so making a trade or breaking the bank on a veteran, ala what the Vikings did witt Favre, wouldn't solve their problems.

McNabb in Oakland would be awesome. It's the perfect place for a scorned QB to revive his QB.
