Very true and this makes them even more deadly to defend. DCs don't know who to double or try to shift their defenses towards, so every guy generally will have 1 on 1 coverage at most times. Also, with no clear cut #1 WR, Eli has doesn't have to worry about feeding anyone the ball and can make his reads and go through his progressions.

But I have to give Smith this: he is an excellent route runner. I saw the guy school the Cowboys all game and made it seem effortless. The guy doesn't have elite speed, great seperation, etc but he simply knows how to run routes near flawlessly, find soft spots in zones & he's not afraid to get hit. That's my kind of WR: steady, consistent & keeps the chains moving.

I started him in my main fantasy league with DeSean Jackson having a bye and was greatly rewarded

Re: The Giant Steve Smith

If Eli has a legitimate Pro Bowl year, I'll say he's an elite QB. The mark of a great QB is the ability to make marginal talent appear good and good talent appear great. Eli doesn't have any spectacular gamebreakers at WR and has still been productive and efficient. Just three months ago, there was worry that the Giants passing game was going to be their weakness. Eli's gone a long to fixing that. He's still not worth $100 million, but he's a top ten QB for sure.

It will be interesting to see how opposing teams adjust as the season goes on. The Gmen are kinda like the reverse of the Saints; everyone is respecting their ground attack so much it's making the passing game look great. However if Eli keeps throwing for 300 yards then teams will have to adjust, just like if the Saints keep racking up 150-200+ yards on the ground.

This is just what they needed, he may not be the home run threat or the go to guy (yet) but he and manningham and nicks will go along way for the giants.

The Giant Steve Smith racked up a ton of bench points for me since I started Wes Welker.
