Touché. But if you look at the schedules, Tampa could have the best luck the rest of the year and still come out winless. It's a brutal schedule. St Louis has Detroit (I think), so they at least have a chance of having a lucky win. And the Browns will figure things out eventually. They're much better on paper than Tampa or St Louis in my opinion.

I think you have to build from the inside out. Coach Spagnola knows defense and he knows to win you have to dominate at the line, control with defense & keep the ball with a running game. He already has a beast in Steven Jackson to run the ball and the OL is young but has potential. Couple that with Spagnola's ability to gameplan a defense and center-pieces (Long, Carrikar, Laurinitis) and they could have a good team one day.

I'd trade down and try to get as many players on the defensive side of the ball. I know, not a sexy way of doing things but it's the most prudent.

Yeah I'd go this route too, or try to stockpile picks by trading down. But either way, I don't think anyone is going to trade up for the #1 pick this year when there really isn't anything worth taking #1.
