I think a new Head Coach would do as you claim: fire/charge up this football team as well lay the platform for next season.

Edit: In addition, if the Cowboys are unlikely to make the playoffs, why wait if only to replace him next season?
The fact that you actually thought The C was serious is pretty funny. I thought it was quite obvious the way he laid it on so thick.

Doesn't matter who's coaching that team, as long as Jerry Jones is making personel decisions and player moves that franchise will never compete. They are less and less talented every year he runs that team.

Roy Williams trade = Joey Galloway trade part 2.

I did, because the head coach is the least of their problems.

Re: Dallas: Time to fire Phillips?

They should've fired him at the end of last year to be honest with you all.

Like BK said it doesn't matter with Jerruh running the team it'll always be dysfunctional unless he hires someone with total control (Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells type)

No way they replace him with Shanahan. The Dallas DLine would all have to be replaced... and Jerry has Columbo, Davis, Gurode, and Adams locked up for several more years.

Plus, after the Elway years what the heck did Shanahan do? Nothing. And he coached a team in the AFC West! The WEST!
I think we will see Gruden, Holmgren, or Cowher though... But only time will tell.

I don't see Jason Garrett lasting much longer either though. I mean, if one of the high profile coaches is hired I'm sure they'll want to pick their coordinators. And I don't see Garrett taking the reigns as head coach unless the offense starts executing better and they quit leaving points on the field... I know its not all Jason's fault, but as WRs coach Sherman says "It all reflects back on me."

None of those guys come to Dallas unless they get complete control, and that ain't happening.

You guys are nuts if you think you're getting Shanahan, Holmgren, Cowher or Gruden.

Plus Cowher probably isn't leaving North Carolina any time in the near future. Holmgren is burned out, and probably will take longer off, if he ever returns, and Gruden is probably 2 years away from returning himself. He burned himself out in Tampa as well.
