Chargers Cut Starting Safety Hart

Quote:
Chargers released SS Clinton Hart.

Bolts GM A.J. Smith doesn't make many personnel mistakes, but handing Hart a six-year, $18M extension in 2008 was one of them. Hart simply couldn't cover anyone, loved biting on play-action fakes, and completely lost his confidence. Steve Gregory and rookie Kevin Ellison are options to replace him.

well The changed have begun in San Diego. lets see what else they will do.

Wow, finally! The best news I've heard all day. This guy wouldn't be a starter on any other team in the league. Glad the Bolts finally realized this.

It's either Ellison or Gregory.

Gregory sucks and Ellison is raw.

I think there's a good chance Ellison might start. I expect him in Gregory to platoon out there. Now if we can only do something about Cromartie and get rid of the other half of the finger-pointing duo.

I highly doubt there's a market for a 32-year old, mediocre safety who on most teams probably would be a backup safety. Any team that was willing to part with a low-round pick would be stupid to do that.
