This is some straight BS. Ray Ray got fined $25,000 for his hit on Chad Ocho. I understand that they want to try to limit the injuries in the game, but damn. I'm starting to think that the worst thing that has happened to the NFL is Roger Goodell. What in the name of Dick Butkus is this league turning into.

Re: Ray Lewis

Actually the hit violated one of those new rules they put in about hitting guys on in routes like that so it's not surprising.

Personally the NFL needs to look at some of these rules and scale them back a bit. Luckily for us the NFL has always been a league that will change things if it's not going well however with Goodell in charge i'm a little worried that this is jut the beginning of a long trend that will sap the game of its intensity.

Re: Ray Lewis

Yeah that was a bad and stupid hit by Ray Lewis. I don't understand the NFL fining every guy who makes a "illegal" hit but hopefully they realize this is football and hits like this are going to happen. You cant fine every bad hit.

Re: Ray Lewis

After seeing the hit again and having a photo of it this is straight horse sh*T. There was a still photo of the hit up on Baltimoreravens.com and he didn't even make helmet to helmet contact. It was NOT a bad hit.

What up, Drae?

Yeah, that's something nobody is really clearing up. Is it an automatic fine when you get some of these penalties? It doesn't seem like it. If it is, so be it... as stupid as that would be. If it's not, I don't really get the excessive fining after going back and looking at some of these plays. Like the 15 yards, and 1st down during the game winning drive wasn't punishment enough.

It definitely wasn't helmet to helmet. I was thinking that when the flag first went out, but that's not what he was called for. It's the hitting a defenseless player across the middle rule. I think it came after Welker got smacked a year or two ago. It was the right call. I don't really get the fine on top of it though. Oh well. I think Ray deserved to be fined more than Ngata or even Suggs so I guess they felt they had to pile on.
