But cutting half the roster, especially home town favorites like Brooks and Dunn, firing the OC right before the season, drafting a QB that only they were going to take in the first round wont get you many fans early

Agreed. Ogunleye will probably be gone after this year and if this guy could develop mid to end of the season. Problem solved. I like the deal but not sure how I feel if it really is a 2nd round pick though.

Still need secondary help though.

This is a good deal if the already excellent Bears defensive coaching staff can get this guy to reach his potential, or as you guys stated, is serviceable enough to replace/match Ogunleye. Adams is still very young, very raw and has a lot of physical tools to be successful, maybe he just needed the coaching? Even still, can't see why a guy wouldn't have thrived with Layne Kiffin coaching him the last few years (sans this season).
