[quote=N51_rob;2040384484]If Morris and the Bucs believe that this kid is the future this is the perfect time to start him. He will have 2 week to study film and pick up on the tendancies of the Packers, plus being able to watch them live the week before will help.quote]

yah i totally agree with that.
i dont think the bucs go 0-16, i know they win at least one game, and freeman prob gives them their best chance...
yah he's raw and so was stafford, both coming out as juniors with howitzer arms
im really anxious to see what he can against green bay
i'll bet the blitz the bejezzees outta him

Re: Freeman named starter

Freeman should absolutely not be starting next week. He's raw, he's young, and he was, in my opinion, overrated coming out of Kansas State. Josh Johnson has been turning the ball over but he's a pretty solid QB considering where he came from the incredible lack of talent we have on offense, and the fact that our offense coordinator calls plays that the team has never practiced before during a game. Yeah, that happened. Think about this, if Freeman didn't get so much hype coming into this draft and we took him in lets say the third round, there would be no way he'd be out there now. Yet, he's got that 1st round tag on him which means to so many people that he can go out and perform like Flacco last year. He should sit for a couple more weeks, learn, prepare, and then start the last four games or so. BTW I'm not a fan of this kid.

I think it matters in a sense that, is it really going to help his development to go out there with no WR's, an average running game, no defense, a meh offensive line, poor coaching, etc? He'll get experience and everything, but experience getting murdered isn't exactly great experience.

The Bucs' offensive line is a lot better than people think.

Re: Freeman named starter

whether youre a fan of Freeman or not, you gotta root for the guy, heck, root for the bucs man, if your a true bucs fan, i was in disbelief myself when they drafted him
regardless, we need to get the winless monkey off our back!!! and i think freeman gives the bucs just as good of a if not better chance than josh johnson
GRUDEN drafted johnson with the intentions of developing him for 3-4 years, never starting him this soon
i mean cmon, he played at univ. of sandiego, i think a 3-a school??? not even FCS

anyway GO BUCS and GO freeman, just get us a WIN!!
