No matter how bad the team is, CLE has already played MIN, CIN, BAL, PIT, and DEN. You can even include GB and CHI. Considering all the teams under them have similar records, the schedule probably plays more of a role.

At this point in the season no rankings are going to make perfect sense, but I can easily see how one could come up with these.

Re: NFL Computer Rankings (Through Week 8)

Cleveland Browns losses:

#5 Minnesota
#2 Denver
#7 Baltimore
#4 Cincinnati
#9 Pittsburgh
#12 Green Bay
Chicago

So, six of the seven teams they have lost to are in the top 12. Doesn't mean they are good or anything, but the fact that they are mostly losing to top ranked teams, and not to low level teams is enough to have them above the other teams with similar records.

Philly is way low.Don't you think?

Indy should certainly be #2,ahead of Denver who just lost badly.

Cleveland is quite pathetic and should be last IMO.Them beating Buffalo in that garbage game.At least Tampa Bay has a little bit of a pulse, the Rams are ever so slightly better and the Redskins have a very good defense.

And if opinions went into these rankings I'm sure they would be much closer to the power rankings you see on every other website.

True enough. That's why this and pretty much power rankings in general are garbage.I find myself being sucked into them like everyone else though. It's like going to that summer blockbuster that you know is crap.
