You can blame it on the guys around him, sure, but he just hasn't quite done enough to get them to the big game and Eli has.

Yeah the fact that they got Merriman made it a truly remarkable trade for both. Giants got a Super Bowl, Chargers got two great players that could get them to a Super Bowl in the future.

So you'd take Eli straight-up over Rivers?

What about if you also threw in Shawn Merriman and Nate Kaeding?

Like I said in the Chargers/Giants thread, it's really a win-win. Eli's already gotten it done for the Giants, and the Chargers got a couple pieces that could turn into a Super Bowl in the future for them.

Eli is having a bad year like any QB would sometime. Payton his brother has a bad seasonare 2 in his carreer. Don't put Eli down. I would Take Eli over Jake Delhomme to lead my panthers anyday of the week.

I do not like Philip Rivers at all and think he is a hothead and pretty much a jerk. However, I have to call it like I see it..... I can't think of too many QB's I would rather have than him. (outside of Peyton Manning and possibly Brady)

He wins, doesn't get rattled and plays well consistently. He is also tough. His temprament, though obnoxious to opponents, probably helps motivate his teammates. He is like bill Romanowski; you hate him until he plays for your team. Then you love him.

He's really, really good. Eli is good too, but if I had the choice, I would take Rivers.

It's funny that the player who repeatedly stated that he wouldn't play for a certain team is the mature one, while the one who has fun on the field, and never swears is the hot head, cry baby.
