The Who to perform at Super Bowl Halftime Show?

The Who to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIV: Hot Clicks - SI.com - Extra Mustard

Per Sports Illustrated

Again does the NFL realize this will in 2010, not 1980?

Roger Daltrey was just in Cleveland, he couldn't even hit a single note. I'm guessing for a full on lip sync show.

I'd much rather see The Who or Tom Petty or The Boss than the latest boy band / pop diva / autotune rapper

Too bad to hear that Daltry isn't doing well though.

According to the article, he had a bad cold or laryngitis. He apologized for his voice not being able to go through his Johnny Cash set.

Well another year that I won't watch the halftime show.

Much better than anything else we'd get stuck with.

The reviewer assumed he did, from reading other reviews, seems every show has been like that. Daltrey just apologized for not being able to perform it. Another review I read said he stopped the show several times trying to get it all together.
