Re: Potentially Fun Thread - Fix Your Team

Bench Joey Porter. He's been ineffective most of the season. The OLB by committee approach of Matt Roth, Cam Wake, and Charlie Anderson with Jason Taylor holding down the weakside will stabilize our front seven and allow us to see what we have at the OLB position.

Attempt to improve Pat White's throwing ability. The Wildcat and Pistol formations can be effective weapons if there is a pass threat running the show. While we're at it, let him return punts. Bess has been muffing every other punt and has never had a return longer than 15 yards. In short, we spent a second round pick on this guy. We should utilize his unique skills as much as we can until he is a viable NFL QB.

1. Work on special teams coverage. And on a similar note, have Dan Sepulveda teach Jeff Reed how to lay a hit on a ball carrier.

Doesn't that pick have to be Sam Bradford, given your current QB situation?

Actually, I probably shouldn't specify Bradford because I think injuries have made him a mid-1st rounder and the Browns are going to be picking in the front end. Doesn't that pick have to be a QB though?

Re: Potentially Fun Thread - Fix Your Team

EAGLES Offense
  • First and foremost, PAY DeSean Jackson.
  • Decide the future of RG Shawn Andrews; If he's done seek out a replacement via draft/free agency. For that matter, outside of Jason Peters and Center Jamaal Jackson, take a long look at the OL.
  • Improve the RB depth (given the loss of Westbrook). Bring in a serviceable vet to play alongside LeSean McCoy, and spend a mid-round draft pick on another RB. Need someone who can bruise in short yardage (Lendale White) or another pass-catching WC-friendly back (Pierre Thomas) to fit that veteran-role.
  • Maybe make a tough decision at QB. McNabb's inaccuracy has held us back some on offense. It might be time to start the Kolb-era.
EAGLES Defense
  • Pay Sheldon Brown.
  • Draft a stud DE or make a solid play at Julius Peppers, Kyle VandenBosch, or maybe Adewale Ogunleye to play opposite Trent Cole.
  • Get Stewart Bradley back healthy, and have a serviceable backup similar to Wil Witherspoon if he's not ready in 2010. If someone becomes available via draft, draft a stud-LB.
  • Upgrade at LB - Make a run at Keith Bulluck, Thomas Howard, or a very-GOOD coverage LB.
  • Get a solid in-flux of young talent via draft.

Re: Potentially Fun Thread - Fix Your Team

1. Don't get rid of Garrard.
2. Pay the hell out of MJD.
3. Keep coaching up the young guys.
4. Get more veteran leadership.
5. Get healthy.
6. Find a pass rush somehow (Groves and Harvey exploding onto the scene (finally), or finding some defensive end help).
7. Let Reshean Mathis play zone. Seriously. Let him play zone.

Re: Potentially Fun Thread - Fix Your Team

1. Fire Lovie Smith, tie an anvil around Ron Turner's foot and throw him off Navy Pier. He's shown he's so evil that you can't kill him. He will come back. We need to give him a death worthy of Megatron.

2. If you can get ANYTHING for Urlacher, and Tommie Harris. Do it. I'll take mid round picks at this point.

3. Hire a coach that has actually been a Head Coach. Cowher is my first pick, but any coach that has been successful as a HC in the NFL works for me. I'm tired of cheap assistants that can't prepare a fricking football team for Sunday running my franchise.

4. Offensive line must be priority #1. I don't care about anything else at this point. Let our defense give up 30 pts a game. We need a young, physical line now. What draft picks we have plus and Free agent moves must be done. It's time to tell Olin to go away, you've been robbing us of paychecks for 5 years.

5. Bring in one veteran receiver. Doesn't have to be a stud, doesn't have to start. Just has to be reliable.
