Cowboys Stadium (a.k.a. JerryWorld)

Cowboys Stadium is a state-of-the-art complex that is clearly head & shoulders above anything the NFL has ever seen. I think it's safe to say that it's the most ambitious stadium in the history of the league.

I wonder how long will it remain at the top of the heap. Are there plans in other cities to One-Up JerryWorld in the near future? Or is Jerry's vanity project so ridiculously over-the-top that it's inconceivable for other teams to follow suit in this economy?

I know there's a new Giants Stadium being built, but I'm not sure that that's going to be as over-the-top as Jerruh Land is.

I could see the recently-approved football stadium in Los Angeles being pretty over-the-top whenever it gets built, however; no idea if the actual architectural plans call for such, or if they even exist, however.

Probably eventually, nothing lasts as the best forever. But not anytime soon, that's for sure.

Re: Cowboys Stadium (a.k.a. JerryWorld)

It's going to last a long, long while as the standard for new stadiums & sports venues. I watched a couple making of documentarys (Discovery, other outlets) and the design & concept was truly groundbreaking. The designers & Jones family literally picked & pieced some of the best aspects of the greatest structures in the world (and throughout history) and implemented it into the designs. There are so many archiatype concepts/implementations that are so groundbreaking & limit pushing that it has set a new standard and that's not even including the big screens.

And this isn't coming from a Cowboys fan's biased perspective but from a person who's into art, design, etc.

It is known locally now as the Death Star.

As a season ticket holder, I love everything about it except the field turf looks too bluish, and we don't need gogo dancers in the end zones. Other than that, it's awesome.

I don't think so. Jerry is going to hate having that huge stadium in a year or 2 when they can't sell it out. They have already had problems trying to sell it out now.

Have they fixed the sound in the stadium? It was terrible during the 49ers/Cows preseason game I went to. I have also heard that all the concerts there have been awful from an audio perspective.
