Stupid. The NFL continues to undermine the entertainment value of it's product. Ratings are driven more and more by gambling and fantasy football. Sad.

So if it weren't for gambling and fantasy people would be watching to see players put on silly hats on the sideline?

The NFL would still be popular. But it would not be miles ahead of MLB or the NBA like it is now.

And I don't disagree but I don't see what that has to do with the NFL fining Johnson for this.

Re: Ochocinco find $30k

As a casual fan of the NFL, I don't understand the way they hand out fines.

Ochocinco (I hate that name) got 30K for this celebration, I get that. I wonder about the disparity though between this fine and some of the other fines, the fines that are given out to players who have an intent to injure, or otherwise make a play that can harm someone else.

For example, didn't Brady Quinn get 10K for that hit on Suggs? The one that took Suggs out? I'm just confused.
