Correlation =/= Causation. They're winning because of a healthy secondary and a commitment to the run that didn't exist with a semi-competent passer like Kerry Collins at QB.

It's laughable to credit VY with CJ's production. The only thing that changed when VY became QB is that CJ started getting 25 carries/game instead of 15. The Titans are 6-2 when CJ gets more than 20 carries, 1-5 when he doesn't.

I'm beginning to think that if Manning doesn't go undefeated it might be Rivers. There seems to be a groundswell among the media in the last couple weeks to get Rivers into the conversation. Hell, Peter King (love him or hate him) has Rivers 2nd in his MVP standings this week. Ahead of Brees, ahead of Favre.

I think Rodgers deserves just as much consideration as Rivers.

Re: Chris Johnson should win MVP

The VY people are killing me, lol. This is how I get labeled as a VY *****. There is absolutely no way on this planet that VY is more valuable in any way than Chris Johnson. We can ignore the fact that his first start came after the bye when I believe 3 starters got back into the lineup, and the entire defense looked a lot more like last year's Titans rather than last year's Lions. We can ignore the fact that Johnson's touches went up when VY began starting. We can ignore the fact that most of VY's passing yards have been to Johnson. We can just look at his historic numbers. That's just silly to suggest that VY stepping on the field shows more than a pace for a 2000 yard rushing season. Really people?

Look around the league. You may notice that there's a team that's a lot better with the starting left tackle playing, or the starting DE, or safety, center, even kicker. I never understand why people try to force football into an individual sport.

What Rivers has done without his all pro center deserves consideration, as does what Rodgers has been able to do since getting his tackles back.

My order right now:

1. Manning
2. Brees
3. Rivers
4. Favre
5. Johnson
6. Rodgers

Johnson will not get it, just like the other 2 players with 2000+ yards didn't get it.

While I agree with you Whar. You can't really ignore that when VY became the starter the Titans started winning. But with out Chris I doubt VY would be bringing wins by himself. CJ is a beast and should be given some votes. But it should go to Brees or Manning.

Nobody is ignoring that.

The issue with that statement is that VY was replacing Collins and not Chris Johnson.
