That's my understanding of the 'ol Pancake. Any other opinions out there?

A pancake is when the offensive lineman does either of these 2 things:

1. When the OL knocks the DL on his ***, he is awarded a pancake.
2. When an OL successfully blocks the DL in the opposite direction of the play, he is awarded a pancake.

so it is not JUST knocking a DL on his ***?

Yeah, pretty much needs to be flat on his ***. The whole thing got a lot of publicity when Orlando Pace from Ohio State was making a run at the Heisman Trophy. I hadn't heard of the term before then.

By the way, LB, Wertzman made that avatar especially for himself. He'd be happy to make a different Avril avatar for you if you want...

oh, i thought he just had to be succesfully blocked in the opposite direction of the play? I could be wrong though. i'll check up on it more tommorow.
