John Fox to stay with Carolina?

Hopefully he will not start Jake ever again. Ever. But still, I think it is time for a change in Carolina, but I am not really surprised.

Re: John Fox to stay with Carolina?

Say what you will about Fox as a strategist but he has the team in his corner. The Panthers could've easily folded up their tents and called it a day but they've played hard for Fox and clearly he still has the respect and attention of the locker room.

I do think Jake Delhomme's tenure as a starter there is over. So at least there's something to cheer about if you really hate Fox that much.

I think Carolina needs a change of direction. Dumb move IMO.

Get another option opposite SS, Moore has experience and he'll have a full off season as starter under his belt. Make a couple tweaks on D and I don't see why they can't easily be contenders next season.

Re: John Fox to stay with Carolina?

I'm fine with this. Fox has done a decent job with a relatively small-market team like Carolina. While I sometimes question his gameday coaching and think he's a bit conservative, he's still cranked out some really good seasons over his 5+ years at Carolina and almost won a Super Bowl. This is Carolina, not the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's unfair to expect a Super Bowl every year.

I just hope Delhomme is traded away or benched and the Matt Moore era begins next year.

I never said it was Pittsburgh, but in 2 years, we will be wondering why he was still here. You know next year Carolina will do awesome, but the year after that it will be yet another 7-9, 8-8 game.

Man, I figured Bill Cowher was a shoo-in for the job since he's interested in a coaching job in 2010 and lives in N.C.

Cowher is said to be very interested in the Tampa Bay job. Even though Raheem Morris thinks his job is safe there is precedent for Tampa to do this kinda stuff. They told Dungy his job was safe and fired him 2 weeks later. They haven't even said anything to Morris so who knows what will happen there.

But I digress...
