Not really

It's entirely about the defense.

Here are the win breakdowns:

Without resting: 106 points in 6 games with 28 coming down 2 TDs

With resting: 94 points in 4 games with 0 coming in garbage time

Points scored in losses:

Without resting: 14 in one game, but 7 came in garbage time

With resting: 59 the last 3 years (19.67 points per game), all higher than their one without rest

Can you do that break down with 3-4 teams being factored in? As i have read in one of these random threads the colts are really bad against 3-4 teams in the playoffs.

We can break down every statistic possible if we want too. All I know is, since '03 we've gone one and done 3 times after resting and we've won 6 games with 1 loss, including a Super Bowl, while not resting. Comes down to W/L's for me. I'd put money on not resting for the Colts.

That's right. I saw that stat too and completely forgot about it.

The problem is your sample size is way too small.

Your sample size for winning a Super Bowl is exactly 1. Absolutely no trends can be picked up from that.

If you don't want to rest starters, do you also want to lose four of your last seven games? Do you want Peyton Manning to throw 5 picks and only one touch down in the first two weeks of the playoffs? If you make the Super Bowl, do you want to allow a touchdown on the opening kickoff?
