I think McNabb ranks in the upper echelon of starters, but he's not "elite". Between McNabb and Eli, I'd probably take McNabb although Eli has a special knack for usually showing up in crunch time. Schaub has probably surpassed McNabb. As for top 5, no I don't think McNabb is a top 5 QB any more, although he might have been at one point in time.

So twelve I guess.
That'd be roughly my list, but I'd have Schaub after McNabb and Rodgers 7th (wouldn't put up a fight over either though).

I don't even know how people can even remotely compare Flacco/Sanchez to McNabb unless they're the same weirdos who think Dilfer is equal to Manning and Young and better than Marino.

I'd definitely rate him in the top 10 with Petyon, Brady, Brees & Rothlesberger being the top 4. From there he's in the realm of the Romo's, Warner's & Favre's (they're good just at the end), McNabb's in that he is an above average QB who can take a team to a Super Bowl.

LOL if this were APF2K8, he'd be a Silver

Hey guys where'd all the Rivers love go? He's tough as nails, has great stats, and IMO is definitely a top 5 QB.

1. Manning

2. Brees
3. Rivers
4. Favre

5. Brady
6. Warner
7. Rodgers
8. Big Ben
9. Schaub
10. Romo

McNabb, Palmer, little Manning, and Ryan would constitute the next tier.

Re: In Your Opinion: Where Does Donovan McNabb Rank Amongst Active QBs?

It amazes me how P. Manning was considered the clear cut MVP winner because of what he did with a young group of wideouts(although he had two other pro bowlers and potential HOF's to throw to). But nobody speaks to what McNabb had to deal with not only this season but almost his whole career. Not to mention the his early injury this season and the patch job that had to be done to that o-line due to injuries. An inexperience group of wideout with no HOF credentials(as of yet).

Look what happened to Eli with no Burress. When Warner had no weapons he was just a below average QB. Now he has a better WR core then the fastest show on turf group. Now he so acclaimed.

Philly defense just wasnt the same without Dawkins and JJ(RIP) and he still guided them to the playoffs where he was bounce in his opening game for the first time in his career. And I didnt even mention the injury to Westbrook.

Mc5 is a top 5 or 6 QB still. He has done more with less then the "Great Peyton Manning" give the man his props.

He is definitely in my top 10.

1. Peyton
2. Brees
3. Rivers
4. Favre
5. Warner (for postseason greatness)
5a. Brady
6. Rodgers
7. Roethlisberger
8. McNabb
9. Cutler (amazed no one mentions he still got 27 TDs with that personnel, I guess the 26 interceptions is why. I still see him turning around in a few years)
9a. Romo
10. Schaub
11. Eli
anyone after that is bleh

1. McNabb has never done "more" than Peyton Manning. He did better in 2001 and that was it.

2. Manning didn't have a "young" WR corps, he had a corps of WR that nobody had ever heard of. Not only were they rooks, they were low drafted rooks from a mid major and a division 3 school.

3. That excuse for McNabb is getting tired. At one point it may have been true, but the Eagles have spent 3 top 2 round draft picks on offensive "weapons" for McNabb the last two years on top of Westbrook and Celek. 3 or 4 years ago that excuse was true, but now it's silly.

Quite simply, you switch Maclin, Avant, and Jackson for Wayne, Collie, and Garcon and Manning probably throws for even more yards and TDs.

By this point, Manning has played with about 3 completely different groups of runningbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends and managed to look like amazing with all of them.
