And the Lakers and Clippers in the NBA, though the Clippers are usually an afterthought. Knicks and Nets are also practically in the same city.

That's because of Eastern/Western conference though so they have to be in the same division.

NFL and MLB use the American/National and split up teams from the same city into separate leagues.

Re: Correct Divisions

What's the point?

If you really can't just accept that Dallas and Indy have contradictory division names, you're an odd person.

Don't like it, don't want to mess up with the rivalries with NYJ, NE and the Jills.

Re: Correct Divisions

Aside from rivalries being broken up, this would screw up the way television works. Teams from the same city/area are in two different conferences so that one team's games will generally be shown on CBS and the other team will be on Fox. The NFL already has to diligently plan the Jets/Giants and the 49ers/Raiders games.

Re: Correct Divisions

I'm not necessarily all for keeping traditional rivalries. I think moving Dallas to the NFC West, St. Louis to the NFC South, Indy to the AFC North, Baltimore to the AFC East, and Miami to the AFC South makes some sense though. New rivalries will be formed (Dallas-San Francisco, Dallas-Arizona, Baltimore-New England, etc.) The biggest reason Dallas won't move to the West is TV. Yeah rivalries play a big part too but you can't have "America's Team" playing 4:00 ET divisional games all the time. Sponsors wouldn't like that. Neither would Troy Aikman.

Yes, get the Colts out of the AFC south please!

I give up on hoping we can beat Peyton Manning, we surrender
