BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA. The thought that Carr was a franchise QB is hilarious, but also makes me sad.
It's odd to think that the best QB to come out of that class was DAVID FREAKING GARRARD. David Carr was probably the second best. That might have been the worst QB draft class of all time, looking back.

Sure, Trent Dilfer is an upgrade from Matt Hasselbeck
LOL

Guy was pretty much within reason though for the most part. Also, I don't think anyone predicted Tom Brady was going to evolve to the QB he eventually became.

Not only was that a terrible QB class, it came at the worst time since a half dozen or so teams actually needed one that year.

It's fun bringing up old threads and seeing people predictions and statements.
Chris Simms was so highly touted do to his daddy, but did nothing at Texas.
Grossman, Manning, Leftwich and Rivers ended up at least doing something.
Although really it goes down to Manning and Rivers.
Gesser and Smoker are the two I'm having trouble remembering though...was Gesser the Washington QB?

I kinda remember smoker...vaguely somewhere in the ol' noggin. Gesser I have no recollection of.

Gesser was the Washington State quarterback ... is he the one who followed Leaf?

Gesser and Kingsbury are now college coaches. So there's more coaches on that list than Super Bowl winning QBs.

Gesser came a couple years after Leaf. Had them #3 in the nation and beating UW until Tank Johnson horse collared him and pretzel'd his leg in the Apple Cup. He played in the '03 Rose Bowl on one leg against Oklahoma.

Smoker played for Michigan State, and I have no idea why he was included in that list of names.
