Yep, agreed. If Warner is considered a lock right now with his couple solid seasons, then I don't see why Brees wouldn't be at a similar standing. However he probably does need at least one more SB appearance.

I don't think he meant it as if it couldn't happen again. I think it was more along the lines of 'crazy' as in a surreal feeling that a Saints QB and win another Super Bowl are being used in the same sentence. For a hardcore Saints fan, that's gotta be absolutely nuts to know that it's finally happened. Similar to how I'll feel someday when the Cubs finally win a World Series and I'm referring to them as champions.

If you were to ask me at this moment, no. He needs a couple playoff appearances and maybe another ring.

Another ring he does not need. Statistically these past 6 years he's better than Manning who also has 1 ring, and he is obviously a HOF'er. Brees should be too then, if we are being fair and not giving Manning special treatment.

Past 6 years? Are you serious? I'll concede the last two, I guess. But past 6?

I find that hard to believe.

2157/3255 (66.3%) 25,033 yards 173 TDs 79 INTs
4 Pro Bowls 1 OPOTY

2104/3148 (66.9%) 25,243 yards 199 TDs 71 INTs
6 Pro Bowls 3 MVPs 1 OPOTY

I'd say Manning clearly takes the statistical edge. Higher completion percentage, 200 more yards and 26 more TDs with 107 fewer throws.

However, the bigger reason Manning is far more of a lock is that 6 year stretch is Drew Brees' career, while Manning has 4 more Pro Bowl seasons and another MVP.

No.

Maybe 4 or 5 more seasons like he has had in the past couple of years then it's very possible.

He's a lock.
So Mark Rypien, albeit minus two Pro Bowl appearances (he played in two), is/was a lock?
