Re: Why Reggie Bush is worth the Money.

Bush didn't even average 5 carries a game this year. He had very little to do with the Saints winning the Super Bowl. Their passing game (Drew Brees) and their defense won them a championship. He's not even the 10th most valuable player on his own team.

I wouldn't have bet money that i'd ever say this when he came out of college, but as of right now, Reggie Bush is completely replaceable. Players like him can be drafted and signed for significantly less than what he commands.

The Chargers are in a similar situation with Sproles but, I think SD should keep him unless they replace him with someone or gets something for him. I wouldn't let Sproles walk for nothing(Micheal Turner anyone) and I wouldn't let Bush walk for nothing either.

Re: Why Reggie Bush is worth the Money.

What are his touchdown stats, since he's been in the league?? The dude scores touchdowns right?? rushing yards aren't as important as touchdowns. imo

Maybe you should stop watching the Saints and learn basic English.

That's one of those things people say but just isn't true.

In four years, he's had 8 rushes over 20 yards. 6 of those came in the two seasons that are, for whatever reason, irrelevant.

He's had 12 receptions for 20+ yards, 5 of which are irrelevant.

So your "match up nitemare" has made 9 20+ yard plays in the two seasons you deem relevant.

Colston has made more than that in each season.

Quote:
Brees threw for 5000 yards last year no pass catcher had over 1000. Thomas was there also. And what happened we missed the playoffs.

That would indicate that the offense wasn't the problem.

You know what the most hilarious part of your logic is?

THE SAINTS WENT 4-2 IN THE 6 GAMES BUSH MISSED!

The Saints were more successful without Bush than with Bush.

Quote:
Each year he played the majority of the season we went to the NFC championship game and won a superbowl.
Bush played the "majority" of the season each year he's been in New Orleans.

The Saints are 6-2 without Bush the last two seasons.

Your arguments are terrible.

Re: Why Reggie Bush is worth the Money.

Drew Brees also played the majority of each of your Championship years. He's the biggest reason for your success. Bush just happened to come along at the right time.

I agree with Throne and I'll tell you why: Bush makes you cram more work into your week. You have to game plan for X factor players and Bush is that. He is worth having on your team.

Having said that, he wants more money than he is worth. Bush is more celebrity than he is player, and he does sell tickets and jerseys. There is a fair negotiating point here that's worth looking into. I hope both sides are reasonable, I'd hate to see the Saints lose that kind of value. Tourism is greatly boosted by high ticket sales, and the city needs more tourism.
