Considering a reliable second runner alongside Slaton is something we've been dying for, and considering our second running back last year was the reason why we failed to win about 3 games which would have put us into the playoffs, I'd say LT would fit in perfectly and help us get over the hump.

Houston isn't perceived as a winner yet. I would think he's going to want to go to one of the established powers. New England still has name value as a power. Indy makes sense. Minnesota, who could be looking for someone to replace Chester Taylor. It's not a matter of if LT would be a fit in Houston, he would, it's a matter of if he gets an offer from an established winner, not a team looking to make the playoffs for the first time ever.

That's true. I don't expect him to come. I do think he has more than one year left though, so I don't think he has to go to an IMMEDIATE contender just yet.

Wherever he goes, it's going to be a clear cut Super Bowl contender. There's no reason for him to go to a team that isn't that. He's done everything a player can do in this league except win a Super Bowl. At this point in his career, I think that's all LT is focusing on. And going to a team such as Houston just doesn't make much sense in that regard.

We'll miss you LT. Thanks for nine great years, and reviving a dead franchise.

My biggest problem with this, is that AJ blows the situation once again. LT wasn't worthless. Why not trade him for a mid round pick? Instead, you let him walk, and get nothing in return? I'm not a business major, but letting products go for free sounds like a pretty crappy way of handling business.

I hope they don't draft a RB 1st round though. I'd rather pick up a FA, and use that first pick on O-line.
At over 5 million next year there is no way another team takes on that contract. It sounds so simple but it usually isn't.

I know it was going to be incredibly difficult to trade him, but I still hate seeing players go with nothing in return. With all the FA's the team has this year, it's looking pretty dim.
