I mean both. Most good NFL QBs have few flaws in their game. If they do have flaws, they usually have huge strengths in other areas to make up for them, like Drew Brees with accuracy.

Obviously, Couch didn't work out well for Cleveland. But obviously people thought highly enough of him to make him #1 overall, regardless of how much talent or drive he had. You think if Cleveland doesn't take him #1 he falls out of the first round?!

You do realize that half the league's GM's thought that Ryan Leaf was the better pro QB than Peyton Manning coming out of college right?

It just proves a point that the NFL Draft is a crapshoot.
Yeah you can use that cliched response, but what I mean by a "system QB" is a QB that has significant flaws in his game, usually physical, that can be covered up by the players around him and the offensive scheme devised by his coaching staff. In college, that's possible because even though coaches may know a QB's flaws, they lack defensive players of the caliber required to take advantage of those flaws. In the NFL, every defensive coordinator has the necessary tools to expose system QBs, so they all get weeded out.

Couch was easily a system QB. Leaf was not; his failures were not because of significant physical flaws in his game.

I don't agree.
If this is true why can't Kyle Orton or any average joe NFL QB learn a system and run it perfectly and be a 3 time Super Bowl winner?

The debate that year for Green Bay was between A.J. Hawk and Vernon Davis.

Unless you have some sort of super secret inside knowledge, that never happened.
