no valid pionts to say the least- just names.
Did you see an exclamation point?
Yes, one great season and having seen ALL the cowboys games makes Austin a top receiver in my book.
So to answer your original question the short answer is Andre Johnson. He does everything well.

BTW, I didn't make any points in that first post. (I just named my top 5 wr's in the NFL)

I'd go with Andre Johnson, he's got almost TE size with WR speed. He can get behind the defense, and he can make a short catch and run through tackles and turn it in to a big game.

Only knock on him, is he occasionally gets a case of the dropsies, although I think he's gotten better. 2 years ago he seemed to drop a lot of balls in crucial 3rd down situation. I don't see anyone in the league right now with the size/speed combination of Johnson. So if I HAD to pick one WR I'd go with him.

Fitzgerald is 1B in my book. Complete receiver who makes every catch, fights for the ball, and is physical enough to defeat press coverage. Only knock is lack of elite speed, but he still makes plays downfield so I am not sure how big of a knock it really is.

I see a lot of Calvin Johnson people. The potential is definitely there. Obviously they need to put some talent around him. Still think he needs to improve his consistency, and hopefully become a little more durable. Seems like he's dinged up with nagging injuries a lot. Maybe just my perception.

Moss is still a gamer, he has to be in the conversation.

Welker is a great slot WR, not sure I would say he's one of the best in the league. But he fits perfectly in to the role given to him in New England. He's super quick, fearless and defendable. When you put him in the slot and move him around so defenses can't get a jam on him, he's ridiculously difficult to defend.

Marshall, is a great physical specimen, but he lacks consistency as well, mopes when he's not included in the offense early, and tends to drop too many balls he should catch.

Reggie Wayne is a great player imo. He's super after the catch, seems to run super crisp routes. Fine player, just not as physically dominating as a guy like Johnson.

Homer pick, I love what Vincent Jackson has turned in to. Great size, goes up for the ball and wins a lot of battles, makes big catches in big games, and has a very good ability to get behind the defense. Not the best in the league, but I feel he deserves some mention.
Couldn't agree more with all your points, BK.

Wow. That statement couldn't be MORE wrong. Boldin is the most physical of any receiver in the league. In 2008 he suffered that fractured mucus membrane injury, and could barely breathe from his nose but still came back in 2 weeks and posted 6 TDs after the injury; not to mention caught 8 balls for 80+ yards in the SB that yr.

He's going to have a HUGE yr in Baltimore, and there will be a thread about him come December which reads: "Anquan Boldin, best WR in NFL?"

Don't think the difference in "other" WRs matter.

For the cliff noted version... Andre and Fitz, then everybody else.

I pick Andre
This, except I would probably rank Fitz a shade higher. As good as his is, Andre drops too many routine balls to be considered the best of the best.
