I don't think Jamarcus Russell flopped due to pressure. More like bad scouting/looking at one skill too heavily and the Raiders WR aren't exactly...good.

I think one thing that factors, possibly, in draft position is that worst picks tend to mean better teams. So better teams tend to have better talent - he probably will perform better with better skills around him (as do many players).

Meanwhile, going to a top draft pick team probably means he's going to a team with a lot of weaknesses. He might be looked at as a bust to those fans if they weaknesses of the team hold him down, but I don't think it would be so much pressure but the team he's on talent-wise.
