Should The Steelers Move On From Big Ben?

I am starting to feel like Roethlisberger is going to become a stain on what most people consider the NFL's beacon of moral concern.

Should the Rooney Rule be followed by some sort of Roethlisberger Rule?

Please keep your responses civil...and intelligent.

Nah. I don't think things have gotten that bad. He's still the franchise. They'll go as far as he'll take them. Hopefully not to any nightclubs in Georgia though.

2 Super Bowl Championships? If he were on the Rams, he could kill someone and still be in uniform the next year. I say keep him and keep him for a long time. He's good and everyone makes mistakes.

I think Big Ben should stay in Pittsburgh and i think that he will. I'm not too sure how this new lawsuit has developed, but this league has shown time and time again that no matter what your troubles may be you will still get another chance to play in the NFL.

Not necessarily on the same team though.

Short answer, if Ben gets locked up the Steelers move on. If he doesn't, they don't.

Trade him to the Rams and get #1 overall and #33 overall.

Exactly. If he didn't get locked up, to remove Ben would be a pretty big mistake but, he doesn't have to many more chances left before he gets to be to much a embarrassment(already is really IMO) for that organization. A few more screw ups and I believe he'll be out of there locked up or not.

I think this holds true for most organizations but this is the Rooney family we're talking about and i've heard that privately they're steaming mad over this. It all depends on what happens with this lawsuit. If he can get by without anything TOO embarrassing coming out or not getting thrown in jail then he stays but if he screws up or even hints at screwing up he'll be packing his bags. If however, the lawsuit gets messy and sordid details come out or he's gotta pay the price legally then he's gone before you can say his last name.
